These hand crafted, made to order Canadian Flags are truly unique pieces of Canadian art. The rustic flags are made of burnt cedar boards (Shou Sugi Ban or Yakisugi) and would be perfect for the cottage, man cave or as a gift that stands out. Our flags are burnt not torched!

These flags are made for indoor or outdoor use and built to last. The Canadian Maple Leaf is a cut out placed on top to give it a 3 dimensional effect.

What is Shou Sugi Ban?

To make these flags, we use a process called "Shou Sugi Ban". This woodworking process originated in Japan and involves taking a raw piece of cedar and burning it to a deep char coaled finish. The charred wood is scraped and cleaned, removing all the excess black charring. This process results in a deep texture between the hard and soft wood, highlighting the natural grain of each piece.
Shou Sugi Ban is very durable and water proof. It was used as siding for traditional Japanese buildings, recently it is becoming very popular in Europe and North America.
When the wood is cleaned we start the coloring process or keep the wood in it's natural color. For protection, several coats of varnish are applied.

Although DaRosa Creations is located in Canada we use USPS for shipments to the US. This results in affordable shipping rates and quicker delivery of your items. For Canadian shipments we use Canada Post.

Most orders, except custom orders are ready to ship in 3 business days after your payment has cleared. Your order will be marked shipped when your shipping label is printed and the items are packed.

Packages are mailed twice a week, usually on Monday and Friday

CANADA
Packages are shipped with expedited parcel. DaRosa uses a shipping company and will have access to tracking numbers 2-3 days after the shipment. Since most packages are already delivered within that time frame, we do not provide the tracking number. You can request the tracking by contacting us.

United States
Packages are delivered in the US twice a week. Tracking info is provided and you will receive an email when your label is printed. It can take a few business days before the tracking information is visible. Shipping labels are printed upfront. There can be a few days between printing the label and mailing the package. In general a packages arrives within 6-8 business days from ordering.

INTERNATIONAL
International packages are shipped via air without tracking. In general it takes 2-6 weeks for the package to arrive. If you would like a quicker shipping method, contact us and we will look into the possibilities.
